What is competency based High School program
First off we want to explain that competency based education (CBE) is not for everyone. CBE is designed for people who learn in more of a project and self paced program.
Credit is based on competency and mastery rather than seat time.
Classes are individually paced. The time it takes you to complete the course is the time it takes you to complete the course.
Often classes are done quicker than typical schools. Sometimes 2 years faster.
The course rubric (blueprint requirements) are based on college level learning thus the course can often be used, with completion of 70% on direct assessment, for college credit.
Completion of the program will result in several stackable credentials along with 2 high school diplomas:
6 AI certificates
Eligibility for Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM)
Instructional Design Certificate
Journalism Certificate
At least 30 college credits and up to Associate degree
One on one "mentoring" is available.
Each course is based on project that will ensure competency rather than simple knowledge assessment.
Six Sigma Black Belt
Potential paid apprenticeship
These programs are provided by third party professional and highly recognized in their field. CAM Pathways supports them through individual "mentoring" and supplemental rubrics and competency requirements.
Why this course structure
This program is designed to demonstrate competency and mastery. It is possible regular the regular school system is for you. It may be beneficial. In that case we can work with the school system to develop a program that can help you assimilate understanding of the the current topic. We are not designed as a replacement for everyone. We are an opportunity for those who may be not realizing their maximum potential.

Project management is great for people who may not like just "doing the same thing" every day. Every project is different. Sometimes multiple projects at the same time.
