Empowering Future Leaders
Innovation in education is the intentional process of introducing new methods, technologies, and teaching approaches that move beyond traditional, one‑size‑fits‑all models to create more engaging, student‑centered, and effective learning experiences.
CAM Pathways (CAMP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to empower future leaders beyond the classroom.
We do this through an innovative—yet, in many ways, common‑sense—approach to learning. Instead of measuring success by seat time, our foundation is competency: students progress by demonstrating what they actually know and can do, not by how many hours they sit in a classroom (which can be mostly online).
The CAM approach focuses on Competency, Application, and Mastery. In simple terms, we use the classroom to build a solid foundation, then reinforce it through real projects that help students apply what they’ve learned and grow toward true mastery of the material.
While many of their peers are just graduating from high school, CAM participants can earn an accredited high school diploma, gain real‑world experience and relationships in their community, show genuine mastery of key subjects, and potentially complete a college degree—or at least earn substantial college credit.
By removing redundant coursework and organizing learning around mastery, CAM Pathways accelerates the journey from classroom to career, helping young people enter adulthood with stronger credentials and a deeper sense of calling and purpose.
Let’s be honest: some people learn better by doing than by sitting in a classroom (even though there is nothing wrong with the classroom). CAM Pathways is designed for those learners—honoring different learning styles while maintaining high standards and clear outcomes.

Faith-Based micro-school accelerated academy
The CAM faith-based micro-school program results in 2 high school diplomas and embeds an accelerated college program with courses and assessments evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE). The program allows students to potentially earn widely recognized college credit while still in high school and earn a nationally accredited associate's degree.
Using a competency, application, and mastery (CAM) framework, students move forward by demonstrating what they know and can do through real work, not just seat time (minimum classroom time). Apprenticeships and community-based projects with local partners give them the chance to apply their learning in authentic settings, build in-demand skills, and graduate with both advanced credentials and meaningful experience while earning college credit.
We provide the program, the teachers, the back-end infrastructure, and business operations.
Your church provides the name of the school, space (at least one time per week), and a non-instructing volunteer classroom "guide".
Your church earns the tuition.
Tuition is limited to the amount of the "Hope Scholarship". We don't want families to pay any extra, and that is part of the agreement.
What is CAM Pathways?
C-Competency=Competency: measurable, transferable knowledge, skills, and dispositions applied in context.
A-Application=use of knowledge and skills in real-world contexts.
M-Mastery=comprehensive understanding enabling consistent, independent performance to defined standards.
What is Competency-Based Education?
The U.S. Department of Education describes competency-based education as learning that “organizes academic content according to competencies—what a student knows and can do—rather than following a more traditional scheme, such as by course or seat time.” In other words, students progress when they demonstrate clear, measurable skills and knowledge, not simply because they have spent a certain number of hours in a classroom. Many state agencies and higher education systems now use this model to align learning with real-world skills, flexible pacing, and stronger college and career readiness.
Evidence of Success
Studies across K–12, higher education, and professional training have found that well-designed competency-based programs can improve student achievement, engagement, and retention. For example, recent reviews and meta-analyses report moderate to strong positive effects on mastery of course outcomes, research skills, and readiness for employment when students advance based on demonstrated mastery rather than seat time. Together, these findings support competency-based education as a promising, research-supported approach for helping diverse learners succeed at their own pace while meeting high standards.

START AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHURCH AT NO COST!
Why?
People will naturally ask, “Why? Why would someone do this and build a school for our community at no cost?”
Answer: It’s a fair and important question. The honest answer is simple: because it’s needed. I am convinced that our country desperately needs renewed faith in our communities and in our schools, and this is one way to help restore it."
